Hi! My name is Amina and I am a mathematics and philosophy major, and a German minor. I enjoy helping others in school in any way I can. As English is a global language in need of teachers, I decided to tutor and teach English to students. I completed my certification for teaching general English and Business English through the TEFL Academy. I have three years of experience tutoring students on a wide variety of subjects including Math, English, and SAT prep. I still tutor students and have decided to teach in the classroom as well; I have been working as a substitute teacher since last year.
Please know that I am here to help you. I will do my utmost best guiding you to succeed in academia through my tutoring and classroom management methods. On top of this, I am very friendly! I enjoy reading, questioning, thinking, and exploring the world. I have been to Europe twice and went to summer school there to study German Language. Something interesting about me is that I really love avocados! It might sound cliche, but I am the type of person who can have an avocado for each meal...and have it unsalted! However, chocolate is the holy grail and takes precedence as my favorite food!
Tutored over 20 students in a unique age range from 7-20 in the following subjects: SAT (Math, Reading, Writing), SHSAT, GRE Quantitative Section, Calculus, Trigonometry, High School Algebra, College Algebra, Middle School Math, Philosophy, English, AP Examinations. Teach students by allowing them to listen, converse, and to think critically along with me. Teach students to think creatively on problems henceforth revealing the power of learning. Teach students with various learning abilities including special needs. Flexible enough to bend multiple angles of thought in order to cater to a client’s learning style.
