I was born and raised in Brazil. I live in Porto Alegre, a city in the south of Brazil.
I have traveled to more than 20 countries. I love to meet people, learn about their culture, history, food and art.
Art is a passion. I like to draw and paint in my free time. I also love books, movies and music.
I am very interested in what happens around the world so I always keep up to date on the news.
To keep fit I do Pilates, Yoga and go for walks.
On weekends I enjoy going out with my friends to eat in nice restaurants, drink wine and chat.
ME AS A TEACHER
I started teaching English (TEFL) when I was 20 years old. Some years later I started teaching Portuguese, too.
I worked as a teacher, teacher trainer and course coordinator in excellent schools. I also helped students prepare for proficiency exams: TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS and Cambridge.
I have a degree as a Translator-Interpreter (English/Portuguese) and a post-grad in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language).
I hold a CPE Certificate.
I communicate rather well in French and Spanish which helps to understand students if these are their native languages.
In the last 20 years, I have been teaching small groups and one-to-one lessons.
MY LESSONS & TEACHING STYLE
I teach English and Portuguese.
My classes are usually based on videos from YouTube (all levels), TED Talks (interm./adv.), RSA Animate (adv.), movie scenes (all levels); texts (all levels); conversation on all topics; vocabulary and grammar.
I teach young adults, adults and elderly students. This is the most exciting part of my job: I meet people with different needs and interests and I tailor my lessons accordingly.
Having fun is a law during my lessons, no matter if we are talking about business, world news or travel.
I like to assign homework for extra practice and to make sure my students take the most advantage of their learning experience.
