Hi! I'm a Canadian English teacher with 4 years of English teaching experience. Over the last half-decade I have lived abroad, travelled the world, and taught ESL to students as young as 3, all the way to adults. The main reason I love teaching is the interaction with my students, and seeing them reach their goals. Over the years, I have taught Oral English, Reading Comprehension, Conversational ESL, and more.
Here are some of my teaching highlights:
- 4 years of teaching English
- BA (Canada), MA in Education and International Development (UK)
- TESOL certificate
- Extensive experience working with beginners and non-native speakers
- Curriculum development, and lesson planning experience
As a teacher my goal is to help my students achieve their language learning goals. To do this, the first step is to get to know the goals, strengths and weaknesses of my students to be able to set a clear plan and work from there. Additionally, getting to know you as an individual is as important as a way to work from your own experiences, interests, and base of knowledge. By focusing my lessons on my students, it allows for faster learning and better retention of material learned.
On the personal side, I love meeting new people in my travels, so getting to know new students is always a pleasure. I also love reading, motorcycles, and basketball :)
If my experience and bio seems like a good fit for you, please leave me a message, and I'll be glad to learn a bit about you.
