Hello prospective students! My name is Robert, nickname Bobby, and I have been teaching English around the world for over twelve years. I am originally from the United States, but after studying abroad in Italy for a semester I knew that I wanted to see more of the world. I graduated from university in California in May 2004 and then completed my TESOL certification in August 2004 in Barcelona, Spain. I spent over a year teaching in Spain getting my feet wet. From there I spent a year teaching in Japan and afterwards I returned to Spain. I spent three years as a bilingual manager and teacher in the United States working for a start-up company that had a predominately Latin American staff. In 2010 I moved to Costa Rica and continued working as a full time teacher. I have been in Costa Rica for over six years and am looking to expand my online teaching experience. I have spent a good deal of time in Latin America and Spain and so I do speak Spanish.
I have taught ages four to seventy+ as well as every possible level. I enjoy teaching grammar, vocabulary, Business English, exam prep, pronunciation, conversation fluency based classes or focusing on any area in particular that the student would like to improve upon.
I believe in constant correction and really working out the small errors that many people make with prepositions or other fluency issues. I enjoy seeing my students’ progress in their language skills and feel more confident in the process.
I love interacting with people and sharing stories and experiences. I am very outgoing and culturally sensitive. I have lived in five different countries outside of the United States and love meeting people from other parts of the world. I love helping people learn and watching them grow.
Whatever your interests or goals, I feel confident that I can help you explore and achieve them through my many years of experience and one of a kind personality!
