🌸🌸🌸 こんにちは。Konnichiwa! 🌸🌸🌸 Are you interested in Japanese language/culture or planning to go to Japan? I am an experienced and qualified Japanese language teacher. I've been teaching the Japanese language as a second language since 2008. I studied English and currently learning Spanish, so I know exactly what the challenges (and rewards!) of learning a language are like. I also work as a translator. My students' ages range from 8 to 86 years old. I love teaching as it is great to getting know different culture, meeting people, and amazing to see the students improve their Japanese language abilities and be able to communicate in Japanese. A little bit about myself: I like playing board games & video games, watching movies & anime, cooking & eating, travelling, and I do exercise 5 days a week. NOTE: If you're interested in working with me, please book a 30-minute trial lesson first. Also, I would love to hear about your language goals (or anything else you think I should know), so feel free to send me a message when you book. THE TRIAL LESSON IS: - A 30 minutes introduction class. - An opportunity for you to see how the lessons work. - An opportunity for you to ask me any questions. - A way for us to create a plan for your learning goals. - A way to test your internet connection - Occasionally the connection can be problematic for some new online students. - A way to get to know each other. THE TRIAL LESSON IS NOT: - A cheap way for you to get your CV or written work corrected or translated. - A lesson which is focussed on the areas in which you need to improve. - A cheap way to get a 30-minute conversation class with the active intention of not continuing. Of course, if you decide that I am not the right teacher after the class and you wish to find another teacher then that is perfectly fine. To be fair to everyone, please be mindful of my 24-hour cancellation policy and take yourself out of any class you do not think you will attend. If you have left it too late, still contact me via message to let me know, it may give someone else a chance to take a lesson! Please read the Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy below. **Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy** Cancellation/Rescheduling is only possible if you send a request for more than 24 hours before the lesson. However, if you are unable to give me at least 24 hours notice before cancelling/rescheduling a lesson, the full lesson fee will be charged. If you are unable to give me at least 24 hours notice, please do NOT click any cancel/reschedule buttons. Also, if you are more than 15 minutes late, you are considered absent, and the full lesson fee will be charged. Thank you for your understanding. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries or would like to discuss anything further. ★ Absolute Beginners Welcome!!! ★ Informal fun lessons tailored to suit every individuals. Never has learning Japanese been so enjoyable and achievable; ) All class material is provided. Hi Japanese learners! I am Chiaki, I was born and grew up in Japan, I have lived in Australia for a year and lived in the UK for the last 5 years. In the UK I gave private Japanese lessons to several British students. I enjoyed time with my students so much that I wanted to start to teaching online to meet more people in different countries. Have you ever experienced the situation where you have taken a phrase from a Japanese textbook and said it to a Japanese person and received only a confused look in response? Probably the reason is that textbooks tend to teach Japanese in an ultra-polite form. Those basics are very important to know but you also need to know the casual way to say things, as native speakers do, to make conversations flow. This is also necessary to understand what Japanese people are saying to you. I can teach you very basic Japanese to business Japanese either in English or Japanese, depending on what level you are at. More than half of my regular students I have now started as absolute beginners, and I am confident to teach you zero base too. Areas I can help with include: - General Japanese – Basic Japanese( listening, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary) - Academic writing (essays, reports, dissertation and thesis writing) and proofreading - Critical reading and thinking - Conversational skills ( Casual conversation, Travel Japanese, Business conversation, Job interview practice ) - Pronunciation - Slang and idioms I understand the challenges of learning a second language because I taught myself English, so I can provide you with tips to learn the language in an efficient, and most importantly, fun way! See you on a trial lesson! ではトライアルレッスンでお会いしましょう！

I am a "Nisei-Nikkei" (born and raised in Mexico descended from Japanese parents-second generation). I have lived in the USA and Canada, but most of my life in Mexico. I have had several English, Japanese, and Spanish conversation groups while I was a college student. I used to work at some international companies in different positions. I think that the best way to learn other languages is by practicing, and there is no more rewarding and funny way to practice than talking!
