ICAS - Insegnanti e tutor di lingua inglese
Stati Uniti d'America
Hello! My name is Mr. Kat Rogan. I am a native English speaker from the United States and I have been a professional language trainer for over 14 years for all age groups and levels of learning. I started teaching English in China at Dalian Maritime University in 2006. Since that time I have traveled to many countries, and have met and talked to just about every nationality you can think of. As and traveler, educator, and avid learner, the biggest thing I can say I have discovered about myself during this time: I really love languages and cultures. For me, learning languages and about people and their heritage is the "spice of life." This is what truly drives me to be a better person, keep moving forward, and improve at all levels of my life - every day. It's interesting, during these travels and experiences of the past decade-and-a-half, I have learned how to say basic concepts and greetings in at least 10 languages, which is a lot of fun and a big talking point in my day to life. People often ask me what my favorite language is. And after English, of course, I would usually say, it would have to be. 2. Chinese 3. Spanish 4. Thai 5. Japanese 6. Italian 7. Russian And more. (don't forget my adopted brother from Portugal - what's up Duarte) There are many languages! And really love to talk about them! But, at the top of my list is Chinese. I spend a lot of time practicing Chinese. Being a 4000-year-old civilization, there are endless amounts of wisdom, knowledge and culture to be found in this language. So, for me, it's a lifetime journey/mission to understand more about this language, culture, and people. I also love Spanish. Born and raised in the United States, Spanish is my second language. I studied Spanish in high school and university, but I know I need to improve. Though I can understand quite a bit of what is being said in Spanish, my speaking does need some practice. Spanish is spoken quite quickly. So, I know how much I need to improve. I also know how important it is to keep practicing my speaking ability with Spanish, as with any language. Though I am not too bad at speaking languages, I do know the feeling of not being able to speak at the level I would like. So I keep trying to learn new methods and systems of learning. And I really like to learn more about people, and their cultures. This is why I love learning languages. And this is also why I really love my job as a language trainer, teacher, or coach. So I hope to make your acquaintance and have many lessons with you. Kat Rogan Qualifications & Experience My education encompasses a long career as a news reporter and journalist as a Mass Communication student from the University of Utah. I also have a degree in Business Management from Weber State University. My master's education is in Multi-Media Film, MFA. I specialize in all forms of professional communication in business, interviewing, writing, examinations, basic conversation, and kid's phonics training. And I am TEFL certified to teach children. Having been a language trainer and learner for 14 years, I have taught thousands of students from around the world. In my experience, I have developed dedicated lesson planning systems, specifically designed for the student depending on their needs. Interestingly, I have found many ESL students with difficulties reaching their true potential. I have also found traditional models of learning to be rather rigid and outdated for progressive thought in the high-paced technologically-driven communication world we live in today. These issues are very important when it comes to speaking at high levels or high-pressure situations. My system brings together the best learning programs into one comprehensive lesson planning system and is adjustable to each specific need and goal of the learner. Some of my classes have helped my students to pass entry exams, get great jobs, get into great universities, succeed at all levels of speaking, writing, and communication for professional and interpersonal use all while having fun. My classes are fun, and I really love teaching that's why I still do it after all these years. Greetings! I should love to be your teacher so that your English can become confident and colourful at a sole swoop. My name is Tom, an English teacher, having led 3000+ online lessons, 3000+ face-to-face lessons, and 200+ group lessons. I am fully aware that learning languages, especially English, is vastly time-consuming, not to mention the infinite deal of effort that inevitably needs to be put therein. Obviously, since we humans have no USB ports through which we can absorb much information in a blink of an eye, mastering a tongue does not happen from one day to another – it is a longsome and gradual process. Even for the most talented English-learners, bettering their level from elementary to advanced takes AT LEAST a full year – if not longer –, provided that they incessantly remain determined and hard-working in the meantime. Therefore, English courses offering to perfect your English to such heights where the sky is the limit within a ridiculously short amount of time all embark with you on an IMPOSSIBLE mission. You CANNOT learn the splendours of an entire language, which has been evolving for over 1.5 millennia, in just a month or whatever the promised length be. Under my tutorship however, unlike many of the so-called tutors who merely CONVERSE with you and nothing more, I shall actually be TEACHING you a lot. In addition, since the service provided to you constitutes one-on-one contact, each lesson, which is tailored to your individual abilities and knowledge, is focused upon your utmost satisfaction. You will see that as I am charting your progress, your weak points are going to be patched up little by little. Please note that my aim is not at all stalling for more and more of your limited time and money but readying you with care for the obstacles of English that come up in everyday life. I am basically at your disposal for three major reasons: 1) to show you very effective ways as to how to practise – combat – English, 2) to ensure that your English-related plans come true, and 3) to dub you a champion of the English language. In the end, after you have managed to forge the crude burden of English into your own fine armour, you will be able to wield it and wander the world in its splendour on your own – without my guidance. Before you want to entrust me with the above tasks, nevertheless, please hear me out yet. What I guarantee is BY NO MEANS that the content of our sessions will magically pop in your head while you comfortably sit back and listen to me. It is YOUR hard-working attitude that is the key to your success, because – let us admit it – without the old-fashioned blood-sweating, nothing, not even your untapped knowledge shall strengthen up! Now that I have laid the table for you, let us have a glance upon what in particular can be found on the menu, shall we? ____________________________________________________________________________ Private English tutoring sessions Topmost objectives: • Mastering British English pronunciation and intonation • Gaining hastened fluency and bolstered self-confidence • Useful and real-life situational exercises • Differentiating British English from American English • Guaranteed word-hoard enrichment to a vast extent • Patterns and erratic tendencies in English spelling • Painstakingly grasping grammar and tenses of English • Assorted synonyms, their distinct shades of meaning • Never-before-seen module-methods and exercises • Exceedingly detailed and thorough clarifications • At any age and level are tutorees welcome

A native British English speaker, I have been passionate about language learning since school. I studied Modern Languages at university in the UK, and continue to study Spanish, so understand the challenges of language learning from the student's perspective too. I did Cambridge CELTA teacher training at the end of 2016 (after years of informal teaching) and worked for two years in Colombia, with a wide variety of business, university, school and private students. Now back in the UK, I teach international learners of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and contexts. I love the variety of students and the breadth of teaching skills that entails. I have top qualifications and extensive experience, in general, business and academic English, as well as in Cambridge, IELTS and TOEFL international exams. Being a good teacher is all about working with the student to find the personalized way that most effectively helps them grow in confidence and achieve their goals. It’s about connecting language learning with real life, making sense of English in a particular context, and recognizing a student’s personal needs, challenges and learning style. I do currently have capacity for working with new students. If the schedule is not showing your preferred time, please do contact me and I will do my very best to find a space that suits you. Let's do this :-)

NOTE: I offer 1 free lesson for every 10 lessons taken!! Hello everyone! I am teacher from the USA who is passionate about teaching English as a second language. I always look forward to delivering the best lessons that I can and I always do my best to try and learn from each and every experience. I graduated from University back in 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in Education. From there I decided I wanted to travel a bit and looked at ways in which I could do that. I came across the idea of teaching English as a second language. I decided to get a CELTA certification because I read about how prestigious is is in the ESL world. In 2014 I received my Pass B CELTA certification and was ready to start teaching. Currently I am progressing my CELTA certification even further by becoming DELTA certified. In April of 2015 I finally found a job that I felt comfortable with and decided to go for it! I ended up in Arequipa, Peru thinking I was only going to be here for three months. After leaving over a year later, I knew I had found what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. It was there that I fell in love with teaching English as a second language. In Peru, I taught English to mostly young adults; however the age range was anywhere from 10-60+. I was also able to teach all different levels of English from beginners to advanced students. It was really a great first job for me as I received so much experience. I also did a lot of private tutoring in Peru and tutor many different students in conversational English or test preparation (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) After Peru I landed a job in South Korea in the summer of 2017. This job is much different than the one I had in Peru as I am teaching mostly young children (6-10 years old). I have been in Korea ever since and continue to find different reasons for loving what I do. Both of the schools I have worked at have been great in terms of my professional development. I am in charge of creating my own lessons and teaching the subject matter as I see fit. I am growing as a teacher everyday and learning new ways in which to become a better teacher. In terms of my philosophy, I always try to make learning fun and enjoyable for everyone involved. If you don't love what you are teaching or learning you will not succeed. Since it is a language, to me the best practice is having the learner speak as much as possible. It doesn't make sense for the native speaker to do the majority of the talking because we aren't the one's trying to learn the language! I also understand that everyone is different, wants to learn English for different reasons and learns better in different ways. I am always willing to listen to what my student wants out of the classes and adjust my classes depending on what that is. I am incredibly flexible, adaptable and always looking to be a better teacher. A little bit about myself. I love to travel, have been to around 10 different countries and I am always looking to expand that number. I myself love to learn languages too and understand the difficulties when it comes to learning a new language. I can speak Spanish fairly well and am currently trying to learn Korean. I have also recently gotten into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I am about 1 year in and I love every minute of it. The challenge of it is very appealing to me and it seems like no matter what, you can always improve. I hope to meet you soon and look forward to our future classes together!
